Visa for wife

Post by has1989 » Mon Jul 02, 2018 2:47 am

Hi All,

I am a British citizen who has recently moved to USA to work. My wife also lives with me here. I am working here on H1B visa. I have got a question i want to visit my family in UK along with my wife. I need to know what kind of visa i need to get for my wife. She is from Pakistan. What kind of documents i need to submit. Kindly shed some light on the process and visa type needed. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Has

Hi Casa,

Thanks for your response. I am bit confused on something do i need to be in the UK to sponsor her visa or i can be here in USA and show that she will be travelling with to the UK. Do I need to give them my USA bank statements if so how much money should i show in my account. My wife does not work here is that a problem since she will not be able to show any documents like work letter or bank statements since she is completely dependent on me.

Thanks for your help.

You don't need to be in the UK, but your wife will have to submit evidence of strong ties to the USA in order to convince the Entry Clearance Officer that she won't overstay in the UK.

I suggest that you provide proof of your ongoing employment as reason to return with your wife.

Hi Casa,

One more question on this. Do i need to maintain my bank statement? For example do i need to show a certain amount of money in my account. If so can i use my British bank statement as a evidence because i have some money coming in and going out of my HSBC bank account.

Thanks for your help.
