multiple-entry Visitor visa - duration between two visits

Post by aravindasl » Tue Jul 03, 2018 9:52 am

My uncle having 10 years multiple entry family visit permit valid till up to the year 2024. he has been entering UK and leaving always honouring the 180 days requirement, with the gaps of re-entries were always five to six months.

After his stay in UK for 150 days since month of November 2017 up to the month of March 2018, left UK and re-entered in June 2018, after a gap of two months.

But this time, immigration officer at Heathrow advise him within calendar year he should not stay totalling more than 180days in UK

What’s does that mean? (never stay more than 180 days in one visit)

Can he stay another 150 days? Or he should have to leave in 30 days’ time?

I would like to know whether this is in order in respect to the regulations.

Thank you in advance

There is no such rule. However some one who spends as much (or more) time in the UK as they do in their home country doesn't seem to be a visitor. They appear to be living in the UK.
