Change of Tier 2 General Visa Sponsor

Hello all,

I would greatly appreciate any advice with regards to my current predicament. I am currently on a Tier 2 General Visa - having received this in January 2018 - valid through to January 2020.

Due to unforeseen changes in the workplace - I am keen to seek alternative employment. From an employer with the required license and for the same role.

My query is -
1)what is the process of switching from different Tier 2 sponsors. The job code will remain the same. Will it be a fresh Tier 2 application I will have to make - as I have read this from a post in 2014. There seems to be a distinct lack of guidance regarding this on the Gov.uk website.

2)will my current Tier 2 Visa be valid up until I receive my new visa, if successful.

Your advice into this matter is greatly appreciated. If I am not providing enough information - please let me know and I will try to oblige.

2)will my current Tier 2 Visa be valid up until I receive my new visa, if successful. Your current employer suppose to be obligated to report the the UKVI that you are no longer their employee, so your stay based on your current tier 2 visa will be shorten by the UKVI and you will receive the letter for this. However, if you do not receive the letter from UKVI, then your visa valid date on BRP is the date you can stay.

Your advice into this matter is greatly appreciated. If I am not providing enough information - please let me know and I will try to oblige.
