Elderly dependent of an Irish Citizen - Short stay visa for UK

Post by jessicawestermeyer » Wed Jul 04, 2018 11:15 am

Hi all,

I've been looking everywhere for information on how I can get my granny over to the UK for a week long holiday.

She is an Elderly Dependent of an Irish Citizen holding a South African passport. The Irish citizen is my mother who naturalised through marriage a few years ago. My grandmother has been with her the whole time. (10 years.) I have IDLR in the UK (ancestry through my fathers side.)

I'd like her to come visit me in Cornwall for a week. The British Embassy website in Dublin has no information.
Anyone have experience with this? Feel quite stupid because it seems like a relatively simple matter considering all the other immigration stuff my family have dealt with.

Thanks so much in advance...
