What is deemed as a "received date"?

Hello,

What is deemed as a "received date"? I have sent my application by post and I know it was sign for on 11th June. However, the email confirming receipt of the application arrived on 4th July (fee was taken on 3rd July). The problem is that exactly 5 years ago I wasn't present in the UK (period between 3rd July - 10th July).

I wonder if I can expect my application to be rejected or perhaps received date will be when the post was delivered? I rang the helpline but the person who I spoke to wasn't sure and gave me conflicting information.

I believe its the date when the HO received the documents which is 11th of June. 3rd July is when they started processing the application.
