Spouse visa Extension Forms

In September I am going to apply for spouse visa extension.
My question is
What and how many forms do I need to fill?
Do I need to fill these both form, FLR (M) paper form and online as well?
What this mean online or by post? “Within 8 weeks if you apply in the UK either online or by post”
