Hello everyone, my name is Angela and I'm here looking for your help and advice in making a new application .
I came to England from Northern Nigeria for a visit in 2004 at the age of 17 with my grandmother and cousin on the invitation of my uncle who was a British citizen.
We ended up remaining in the Uk because my grandmother was so ill and an application was made for leave to remain on behalf of the 3 of us in 2005 before our visitors visa ran out.
Home office made ended up separating my application from my grandmother and cousin because I have a different last name from them.
They were eventually granted indefinite leave to remain and my case went to court in 2005 where the judge advice that I withdraw my case and apply for ECHR application because I had turned 18 by then I had no immediate relatives to care for me because I had been dependent on my grandmother since I was a child. My solicitor did as the judge advised.
From 2006 to 2012 I heard nothing from Home Office despite my school, solicitor and MP sending numerous letters to them. I couldn't finish my education because no school was willing to take me without paperwork.
I figured they misplaced my application and file because they couldn't find me.
I was asked to contact case resolution team in 2012 when enquires where made about my 2005 application. Those people do not exist anymore by then lol
By this time, I was homeless and destitute. I went to live with my other uncle in 2012 and he was very upset when he found out that my paperwork hadn't been sorted out since I came to the UK so, he decided to make a new application for me in 2012 which was refused because my case just fell outside the immigration rules and he applied for judicial review in 2013. At the hearing, the judge asked the Home Office to go and review the case and make a new decision. My lawyer then withdrew our JR because only on that basis will the Home Office agree to look at my case again.
In 2014 they refused me again because I was of age and can live independently from my family. My uncle made another application in 2015 which was again refused because I had no partner or kids.
I have my own personal reason for not having a partner or child/children and I hope this won't hurt my chances again.
I was asked to report to a detention centre which I did once in 2016 and I haven't been to report since then.
After that day, I never went back to my uncle's. I went to stay with a friend because I felt very bad bad knowing that he has wasted over £15,000 on my case and the end result was still horrible.
After walking out, I was diagnosed with depression and I've never spoken to anyone about it because I was ashamed.
I heard recently from a family friend that immigration officers came to my uncle's house 3 times looking for me and he told them he had not seen me since 2016.
So, I want to reapply because I'll be 31 soon and I'll have spent 14 years in the UK. What are my chances of success please I'm going this solo. I have no access to my documents because I never picked them up from the solicitor's office but I have my HO reference numbers. I'm getting help from my friends for the Health and application free including letters to support my application.
I'll appreciate any assistance I can get, thanks in advance.
