EEA Family Permit for INDEPENDENT parents

Post by Hafsa131 » Thu Jul 12, 2018 1:32 pm

Hi,
I am a Sri Lankan passport holder with a 5 year British Residence Card.
My husband is a Spanish Passport holder (EU citizen)

I want to apply for my parents to visit me in the UK for the birth of my first child, however, the gov.uk website states that they have to be "dependent" on the EU citizen (My husband).

My parents are NOT dependent on either my husband or me, in fact they are financially independent.

My husband and I will however provide accommodation, food, and cover all travel expenses for their trip to the UK. Does this classify as dependency?

I would really appreciate some advice, I'm quite desperate as I really really need my mum around when I have my baby.
Thanks!
