Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur

Post by Jahid » Thu Jul 12, 2018 2:19 pm

Hi Everyone

I am very new to this forum. I applied for Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa Extension for 1 year on 22 June 2018 endorsed by my University from where I graduated in April 2017. My initial T1 GE visa was granted from 28 June 2017 to 28 June 2018.

My time frame in living in the UK:

24 November 2013 to December 2015: Tier 2 (£34,000 annual salary as University Research Associate)

January 2016 to May 2017: Tier 4 Student visa,( Masters in Law)

28 June 2017-28 June 2018: Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur(Endorsed by my University)

22 June 2018: Applied for extension of Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur (Endorsed by my University)

If I get the extension until July 2019, next year I would then apply for Tier 1 General Entrepreneur Visa for 3 years by investing £50 k from my personal account. My questions are:

1. When I would be eligible to apply for ILR?
2. If I want to apply for settlement on 5 years on Tier 1/business person, would my 5 years be counted as like: 2 years on Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur + 3 years on Tier 1 Entrepreneur (in my case 2022)?
Or 3. Do I still need to apply for 2 years extension on Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa to be qualified for settlement (in my case 2024)?

Please kindly advise me.

Thanks.

1. When I would be eligible to apply for ILR?
You cannot get ILR under Tier 1GE route at all as time spent under this route does not count towards 5 year settlement
2. If I want to apply for settlement on 5 years on Tier 1/business person, would my 5 years be counted as like: 2 years on Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur + 3 years on Tier 1 Entrepreneur (in my case 2022)?
No. You must have at least 5 years under Tier 1E route only (or 10 years residence in total)
Or 3. Do I still need to apply for 2 years extension on Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa to be qualified for settlement (in my case 2024)?
Yes. But you will be eligible for long residence ILR in 2023 if it all works
