Indian Birth Registration - Does this mean Citizenship?

Indian Birth Registration - Does this mean Citizenship?

HI All,

We have applied for MN1 for my baby and yet to receive the certificate.
Due to shortage of time, if we start to apply for Birth Registration without applying for Indian passport - Is there any need to surrender Indian Citizenship if by chance we get British Passport?
