Non EEA spouse into Germany?

Post by robb55 » Thu Jul 19, 2018 7:23 pm

Hi All

My fiance and I are getting married in Copenhagen next month and have been told different things about getting the EEA family permit in Germany.

Im a UK passport holder who is living and working in Germany. She is a Russian national.

My question is; will she need to complete the basic German language exam to get the EEA family permit so she can live with me in Germany? Any sources would be welcome.

Thank you for your time.

Rob

As the question relates to immigration to Germany, moved to the Europe immigration forum.

There is no language requirement for spouses of EEA nationals.

Ok, thank you.

Is there a website source you got that information from?

You are asking someone to give you something that doesn't exist.

This forum is literally full of hundreds of posts telling exactly what documents are needed for EU citizens' families to join their EU spouses under the EU directive 2004/38.

If you'd Google'd "German embassy Russia" and gone to the relevant link (which is https://www.vfsglobal.com/germany/russi ... index.html) then clicked "Visa Types > Relatives" and chosen "Documents Required", under "Family members of EU (EEA & Swiss) citizens" you'd have seen all the needed documents which are:

1. Harmonised visa application form
2. Travel document
3. 1 Photograph
4. Proof of the family tie

on all this page: https://www.vfsglobal.com/germany/russi ... other.html

I'm sorry but besides this we can not give you a website with information saying what is not a requirement besides this.

IF you however want to learn what is a requirement, check out EU directive 2004/38.
