Hello,
I am a Hong Kong citizen with a British National Overseas (BNO) passport.
I moved to a EU country 5 years ago and started working for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office a year ago. I was wondering if working for the Crown Service might make me eligible for British citizenship? More info here:

I have a junior position (admin) and I am not sure if I have enough leverage to apply. I don't mind keeping my job for a few more years to heighten my chances, but I'd like to know if it's feasible in the first place.
It's a shame that I am not allowed to renounce my Hong Kong Chinese citizenship in order to claim the BC. I have never wanted to be a Chinese national, the Chinese nationality was inflicted on me without my consent. Compared to Macau, where most citizens were granted EU passports by Portuguese government, what british Hong Kongers was put through was an utter disgrace.
Has anyone had any experience with the situation I am in ? I'd love your two cents.
Thanks much in advance
