Hello,
So ,I applied to register my child (UK born and under 6 ) as a British citizen. However, when we went for the bio-metric enrollment, there was nothing in the system to bypass registering finger prints for the child.
It is my understanding (from the form Mn 1 guide) that only a photograph of the child's face is required.
So we have not proceeded with the enrollment as this seems to be well against the rules for a child under 6.
I have called UKVI severally and they have confirmed that finger printing for the child aren't required but the clerk at the post office told us that the system was still requiring finger print records.
I was advised to contact 'nationality bio-metrics' via email which I've done to ask if a new barcode can be generated , but then they have a 10 working day SLA so i'm yet to receive a reply. Rather than wait, i'm wondering if there is anything we can do to be proactive about this or if anyone has had to go through a similar situation then it would be great to learn from anyone.
