Tier 1E ILR pending application and LR 10 Years

Dear members,

I and my husband who was on Tier 1 E visa, we have recently applied for ILR awaiting decision. My husband has been in the UK since September 2008 on visas student on entry, PSW and Tier 1 for last 6 years. I joined him in August 2017 after marriage so I am currently a PBS dependent. My husband applied in April 2018 for ILR on 5 year basis and I applied for further extension of my Tier 1 dependent visa paid 3 year IHS etc. There have been no long breaks or adverse visa application outcomes in the past.

My questions are;

My husband would be completing 10 years in September 2018 is it advisable to go for LR route given the application is still pending?

If I am to switch to Spouse if he applied in LR category what requirements we need to fulfil mainly does the salary criteria apply here of 18000 per year and do I need English tests etc?

It is a humble request to give as much information you can as it will really help us make a firm decision this forum is new for us referred by a friend but given hefty solicitor fees it's better to seek advice from here you guys are doing a good work and appreciate any help.
