UK TIER 2 visa query

The start date mentioned on my cos is 1st September. But on my tier 2 visa it says 17th September. What do I need to do? Can I get this fixed or shall i start working 2 weeks prior to the start date? Kindly advise.

You are legally not allowed to work before the start date mentioned in the visa. You can either get it corrected or start from 17th Sept.

The start date on your visa is what is important. The day you get your visa is the day your job officially starts and you will be paid from this day forward.
