Schengen tourist visa

Hello people. Hope you are doing well. I have a schengen visa valid until 20th of august 2018. I'm planning on visiting Spain as a tourist on 17th august 2018. The duration of stay on my visa says 45 days. Does this mean that i can enter the schengen area on 17th and exit on 26th august 2018 with the existing visa? Thanks!

If your visa is not valid, you can't stay.
