British Citizenship for child born abroad

Post by gabrycon » Mon Jul 30, 2018 3:59 pm

Hi

I am about to get a British citizenship by naturalisation.

My child was born abroad more than a year ago (before me becoming British) but he lives in the UK since 2 months after birth.

Can I apply for him under the MN1 online form? Is section 3(1) the one that applies for him?

Does my wife also need to get a permanent residency or is my citizenship enough as document to support my child's application?

Thanks!

As your child was born outside of the UK they will follow the immigration path of the 'less advantaged' parent. In this case, in line with your wife.
