Tier 2 job switch and Passport expiry

Hi everyone,

Has anyone come across the situation where the passport is about to expire in 3 months, and will it be allowed (or safe) to make tier 2 job change application postal or premium ?

Thinking of scenarios as below

In case of postal application - if passport expires in between postal application date and before the decision is made ?

OR in case of premium application - Employer generates COS in 4-6 weeks, I get new passport in mean time and then make premium application with new passport(and I will have old one too indeed) and COS ? (I assume its not good idea though, correct me if wrong).

I am curious about the result of this question. Did you actually do the application with this passport? And can you please update me about the result? Many thanks.
