Offshore workers visa

Hi i'm in the UK at the moment. I'm trying to get more info on the "Offshore Workers" visa. From what i have read on the HO website i don't actually need a visa to work if the work will be for less than 6 months? If i then do need a visa under what category do i apply as i cant find a section for Non points based offshore workers?

Any advice would be appreciated.
