Appendix FM 1.7 self employed

Post by waymoore » Wed Aug 01, 2018 1:20 pm

Hi there,

If anyone could please assist,

I am in the final stages of a spouse visa for my wife who is Ukrainian, we married in February this year, after a relationship of 1.5 years, she came to visit twice last year after we successfully obtained a visitor visa for 6 months.

I am having problems with Appendix FM 1.7 proving my self employment as i have only been registered self employed (sole trader) since February this year and for the tax year April 17/18 was partly employed and partly self employed showing an income before tax of £22,300 (minimum for my circumstances is £18,600) my I have my tax return (SA100) and my SA300 which backs all this up along with 12 months bank statements which show a good income coming in weekly. the problem is i cant provide the last full financial years unaudited accounts because i, obviously, havent been self employed for one full year yet. i also have a letter from my accountant which explains the above and also states that i am receiving regular self employed income. the Appendix FM-SE states that this document MUST be submitted......

Could anyone help of advise regarding do i need to be self employed for a full 12 months before applying? would the UK embassy take a common sense view to see the level of income over the past 12 months has been very consistent and i am in actual fact in effect a sub contractor for a pub where i am their self employed manager/consultant and the owner of the pub has provided a letter to confirm this.

Its driving me crazy that my wife is in the Ukraine and i am here, although i do travel to see her about once every 6 months and we thought that finally we have every we need for the visa to be successful. :( :( :( :(

Any help, guidance/advise on the best way to complete this section would be incredibly helpful and greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Yours hopefully that we might have a common sense approach to my income and by the way i have been out of work since i left school.... i wont say how many years but it is alot! :o
