No absence from UK letter from previous employer

Post by Karthik Vicky » Thu Aug 02, 2018 12:04 pm

HI, I am eligible for ILR next year. I have not got an absence from UK letter for my annual leaves from my previous employer. I worked for 1.5 years in that employment and annual leaves are not more than 50 days within any 12 months period (2014-2015). The previous employer does not have license to sponsor Tier2 general visa anymore and I am not sure if he would give me a letter to prove all my annual leaves which I spent outside UK, as he might not have a record of all my annual leaves. Kindly advise me to address this issue.

Letter is mandatory if your leave is more than 30 days in that year...If you are not able to produce letter just write this in cover letter you should be fine..

Have bank statements and salary slip ready so that you can prove u have got paid in UK during your absence.

The letter is required. It is irrelevant that they are no longer a sponsor

Hi,
Thanks very much for the reply. I emailed the previous employer and had no luck with the reply. In that case, can i produce a self explanatory letter about the situation. Will this pose any issue in approving my ILR ?

Yes it can as discretion will only apply if the absence was less than 30 days or so
