Citizenship Enquiry

Post by Gillani123 » Thu Aug 02, 2018 9:55 pm

Dear Sir/Madam,
It is stated that I'm a 19 year old student who moved to the UK on 29/09/2014 with my family under spouse visa. We received our Indefinite Leave Remain on 05/07/2017 as we applied for the spouse visa just before the July 2012 visa reforms (new rules) which made us eligible to apply for ILR after 2.5-3 years of stay in the UK. Now that It's been a year since we received our ILR so the question is that am I eligible to apply for Naturalization under the old rules upon which we were granted ILR?
Waiting for your reply,
Thanks for your cooperation,
Kind regards,
Mr Gillani

Naturalisation rules have nothing to do with ILR rules.

You require a minimum of three years residence in the UK if you are married to a British citizen and five years if you are not. So, are you married to a British citizen?
