Irish Visa requirements for non-EU spouse of British National (holiday in Dublin)

We are thing of going to Dublin on holiday to visit family and friends. Multiple visits (albeit short weekend breaks) will be what we are looking to do as we explore Ireland. We will be travelling together.

My non-EU wife is residing with me in England on spouse visa.
I'm thinking of applying for a multiple entry visa for her based on the info here, http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/Fa ... 20citizens
with the intention of applying here https://www.visas.inis.gov.ie/avats/OnlineHome2.aspx

Can someone please confirm whether my research is correct so I can proceed with the application?

She has Biometric Resident Permit as a spouse but dont think she has "residence card of a family member of a union citizen" which would allow her free entry. Maybe we should get that if we can.

Also, would be great if she can travel on her maybe once a while as she has friends/family there but we will be applying as a tourist this time since we r going on holiday.

Double check with the embassy in London just in case they require more documents from you or your wife.
