Simple questions, but feeling nervous!

Post by chigz86 » Sun Aug 05, 2018 5:05 pm

Hi All,

New to the group and have a few questions.

I'm applying for ILR for my wife; currently on extended spouse visa. It's all straight forward:
- We meet all the requirements
- The form is filled out and we will be able to get all the docs in around 4/5 days

My problem is that we've been unable to get a date for the same day service before my wife's visa expires on 3rd Sept. I have two questions:

1. Is there any other way of getting a same day appointment now? It's hard to believe that not a single centre has an appointment in the next 30 days at any of the centres?

2. If we can't get an appointment I'm guessing the only option is application by post? However the wait is over 4 weeks and my wife's visa will expire by then. Can she stay, does she need to go back? What happens if she can stay and her ILR is declined (although pretty sure it won't be.)

We have a daughter just over 1 with another on the way so we're just a bit concerned..

Thanks in advance

1. Is there any other way of getting a same day appointment now? It's hard to believe that not a single centre has an appointment in the next 30 days at any of the centres? Keep trying, you may be lucky. Slots are often released onto the system at mid-night.

If you can't secure an appointment before your wife's visa expires, you MUST apply by post before the expiry date. Your wife's right to reside in the UK will continue while the application is being processed, under Section 3c leave.

If the application is refused she is likely to be issued with a FLR(M) Partner route extension.

Thanks in advance
