Re-sign and re-date the application section 7

Post by unijjang » Wed Aug 08, 2018 5:13 pm

Hi, all. It's my first time to write here. I need some advice.

Yesterday I received a letter from Home Office. It says on the actual date 5 years before making the application, I was not in the UK. I was visiting families abroad that exact date. My mistake, I didn't read AN booklet properly.

Fortunately, HO gave me a chance to re-sign and re-date on the application section 7, which is good.

But, the problem is... HO wrote that they enclosed the application section 7 and a return envelop but they didn't come with the letter. Here.. I'm quite lost. Should I write them asking they send me the application section 7 and an envelope? Or should I just print the section 7 myself and send it to HO in any envelope? Any similar experiences?

HO says that the failure to use this envelope can result in delay in reaching a decision on the application. On the other hand, they make clear not to contact them except absolute necessary e.g. require of urgent return documents.

Secondly, I'm out of the UK now on holiday. I wonder if I have to be physically in the UK when the re declared application form is delivered to the Home office. If it has to be, I'll have to fly to the UK, go to the post office and send the form with 1 day guaranteed delivery, and next day I will check if the letter is delivered and then come back to my holiday destination. No problems of doing that but, I'm not sure if it's okay I leave the UK on the exact date of my application. Would HO take it as I was not actually in the UK because I left the country on the date? Or should it be okay because I would be at least half of the day (of application in the UK) How complicated .. and I can't get a clear answer from anyone.

Fourth, I read similar experience of some people here. They received the biometric enrolment invitation again and had to repeat that after re signing. In my case, I applied also for my two children as dependants. I wonder if I'll have to end up doing again all 3 of us the biometric enrolment. Or only myself..? They are 8 and 6 years old, both European passports, one born in Europe, another one born in the UK.

At last, HO asked me to send the re signed application form by the due date. But, I can't find any due date written on the letter. Should I think the due date is within 2 weeks from the date I received the letter??

Please .. any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks.
