Tier 2 starting date and previous visa expiry

Hi moderators,
Can anyone tell me about my query?
My previous Tier 4 visa expired on 31 July 2018. Before expiry, On 13 July, I applied for Tier 2 visa priority postal service and starting date on my COS is 1st October 2018. Can anyone tell me about the next visa starting date? Will UKVI wait for October 1st to issue me BRP or they can send me BRP any time in this month valid from August (any date) until 14th October 2021, bcaz my CAS is for 3 years (from 1 October 2018 to 30 Sep 2021).
