Tier 2 visa premium service appointment help needed

Hello. I've come to this board as I need some advice regarding the premium service appointment for my renewal of my tier 2 visa.

My visa expires at the end of the month and I completed my online application earlier this week. When going to choose my appointment the earliest was for a week after my current visa expires. I've seen in various places this shouldn't be done so have taken advice from a lawyer who said I would be okay as my application was submitted in good time. I have been trying to move my appointment earlier but with no luck.

However I'm still very concerned about this - should I be? If I need to do a postal priority application is there a way to "downgrade" or get a refund (I paid fully online for the premium service).

If I do decide to complete a priority application instead am I right in thinking that this needs to be sent before the expiry date and essentially my current visa is extended until I get a decision?

I'd say U either have to book Ur premium appointment before Ur visa expiration or cancel that and send application through the post. Yes refund applicable if U cancel premium appointment in advance
