Tier 4 student to dependent

Hi,
I got my student visa recently from my home country. My wife is still in uk on her student visa which will expire in jan 2019. Can she switch her visa to tier 4 dependnt within uk or she also needs to come back to home country for her visa application?

Anyone can make a PBS dependant application in the UK, except someone who is here as a visitor, short-term student or with temporary admission.

But first you need to check that your course is at the right level to allow you to have dependants.
