First of all i wanted to thank you guys for the help i have gained when using thos forum and i was able to collect my certificate on the 21st feb making me an offical british citizen.
My brother has lived in the Uk for 16 years as a EU citizen and has just graduated university and might be offered a once in a life time job oppertunity - considering he graduated a month ago and is going for the interview next week - in his area of work. the problem is he would have to relocate to Dublin and with the whole Brexit thing, hes not really sure what his options are.
his first option was to apply for citizenship but the future intentions question is worrying him. if he applied and then "decided" move there after signing the paper work would this be grounds for refusal? he is coming back after as he is only taking a gap year with the industry before continuing his masters.
He has a PR card. if he decided not to apply and then came back, how would it work with him applying for settled status when the time came? because as i understand it, he wouldnt have been out for more than 2 years but then be wouldnt be present in the uk.
in regards to the biometrics and everything hes more than willing to fly over when needed at short notice as hes currently living with my parents and will send the paperwork with this address
sorry for the long question but its a bit stressful as we dont want him not to be able to come back home after his gap year but its also an amazing oppertunity.
Thank you very much
