boruto wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 12:13 amThanks a lot. I am currently doing that. I have a more detailed request.
I am an EU family member with a residence card of an EU family member issued by the UK which expires in Jan. 2019.
We have travelled to Spain before in 2011 for the holidays but then we were not married. So i had to get a Schengen visa.
I am currently in a non- EU country. I would like to join my spouse for the holidays.
1. Would I have to get a visa as I would be travelling alone?
2. What documents are required for me to submit with my visa application?
3. What is the best way to achieve a success story of travelling to Spain?
4. How would I be able to get a long term multiple entry visa?
5.What would be the best time to start the application process? taking into consideration the permit expiry ( Jan. 2019)
Thanks for your support.
Caravel88 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 9:09 amOk, no problem.
Does it say:
Residence Card of a Family Member of a Union Citizen / an EEA/EU National
on your UK RC?
If so, you can travel alone to Spain since you will be joining your spouse there.
The rule is: Travel together or travel alone to join
So no need for a visa.

Yes it says Residence Card of a Family Member of an EEA National
I would like to know what would be required or asked while travelling alone? Does anyone have any experience? Please kindly share.
Thanks in advance.

- Proof of ID (of EU spouse)
- Proof of joining family member (copy of ticket and/OR a letter confirming that you will meet there with dates written and signature on it)

A few questions;
1. When would you recommend I begin the application process because the RC expires in January 2019?
2. Should I apply for a tourist visa, reunification visa?
3. If i have plans of getting a residence card in Spain what would be the best way to apply to enter?

You can just travel to Spain and register your residence there and obtain Spanish permit.

boruto wrote: ↑Sun Sep 09, 2018 1:54 ampardon me. I may have missed an important information. I am from Nigeria and currently in Nigeria. So would it still be possible to just travel to Spain to meet my partner without a visa? And only the documents stated below?
Caravel88 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 7:27 amIf you have a UK residence card which says "Residence Card of a Family Member of an EEA National", you can travel to pretty much anywhere in Europe with the said card AND the documents I listed in the previous message from Nigeria, or anywhere.
Just make sure that your documents are real (not copies), readable, and clear.
You should have no issues. If you are really worried, go to UK and travel together but you don't really need to do that.
boruto wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 3:02 amNow i have no further questions. Thanks a lot Caravel88, I'll keep you posted on the progress.
Cheers
