Visiting student (undergraduate) - visa application

Hello everyone,

I am writing to seek help on my situation. I have recently been in touch with a professor in the UK, who is willing to take me in to work in his research group as a visiting student. But I would have to arrange my own visa to get there. After doing some research, I am confused about what kind of visa am I eligible to apply. Certainly, as an undergraduate, I don't fit the criteria for academic visitor.

Thus, I am hoping to get some help on the matter in terms of what kind of visa can I get and what are the required documents for that. I apologize for my ignorance as I am really new to this. Thank you for the help in advance.

Just to provide more context, I am hoping to stay for 10-12 months
