Hi Guys,
I would be thankful if anyone can kindly help me with this.
I live in the UK and have recently received ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain). I am going to apply for British citizenship in September 2018, and I am hoping to get my British citizenship certificate and then apply for a British passport by December 2018. So essentially from January 2019, I will (hopefully) become a British citizen and will have to surrender my Indian passport then.
I plan to bring my mother here to the UK for a month or so on holiday, but after January 2019.
My mother, who lives in West Bengal, will obviously need a passport. She is over 60 years of age and is a Senior Citizen. This means that for her to apply for a passport now, she will have to hand in - among other documents - ‘Copy of Offsprings (Age more than 18) Passport, who is staying abroad (with page having parents name)’.
What I want to know is when my mother applies for her passport (which will be next year, maybe February or March 2019), whether or not she can use copies of my British passport (which I will get in January 2019).
The reason why my mother cannot apply for a passport now is that I have to be with her to complete the application form and sort out appointment date, as she does not know much about computers and doing stuff online. I plan to go to India in February 2019.
Any help on this matter would be hugely appreciated!
