Bank Statements with different address

Post by GaryG19 » Mon Aug 20, 2018 10:19 am

Hi,

I did find a recent topic about this although it does not answer my query/ease my concernss. I am applying for a fiance visa.

Essentially, I moved out of my parent's house and into my own place last September. However I never changed my banking address until recently as any letters or correspondence was fine to go there for me. So the problem now is, my first 4 months bank statements state the old address and my latest 2 have my current address. Will this cause any problems? I have plenty of proof I live at this address now such as bills, tenancy agreement and letter from my landlord. However I am just concerned that UKVI will see this inconsistency as a ground to refuse the visa on. The bank (Lloyds) say they don't give confirmation letters for changed addresses (even though they have a send confirmation section on the change address form) so that's out the window. It is my own fault for not changing my banking address but I'm hoping as the bank statements are not a proof of address for the visa, that they should overlook this.

Thanks in advance.

Gary

It really should not as addresses on accounts are not even used when transferring money. It just needs to be in your name. A covering letter explaining the address discrepancy will also be fine.

I had the same problem in that despite telling my bank, they had my last overseas address when I ordered my statements. They wrote a letter for me stating my address was so and so, UK.
