British National (Overseas) with Tier 2 ICT

Post by Franky_fun » Mon Aug 20, 2018 2:38 pm

I am trying to do some research online but it’s hard to find the answer.

I am going to relocate to the UK with my current company using Tier 2 ICT Visa. My understanding is that it won’t lease to ILR even if I stay for 5 years.

However, I understand as a BNO holder (Hong Kongese), if I am staying in the UK for 5 years with less than 450 days not physically there, I can apply for the BC status.

So in that sense, is it possible to be a BC by getting the Tier 2 ICT to stay in the UK for 5 years?

Many thanks inndvance and I truly hope someone can help!

Form B(OTA), which implements Section 4 of the British Nationality Act 1981, requires five years of residence in the UK AND atleast one year free of immigration time restrictions (ILR) - (Section 4(2)(c) of the BNA 1981).

Are you ethnically Chinese or do you have any other nationality? If neither of the above, there may be an alternate route to registration using Form B(OS). That requires you to never have had any other nationality.
