Experience of complaining to the Home Office on treatment of immigration officers at the border

Post by BritCits » Mon Aug 20, 2018 5:46 pm

Increasingly, we are seeing queries from British citizen members whose family despite holding the 5-year UKRC have been stopped at ports of entry. So far they have always been let in, but with delays ranging from 30 mins - 2 hours. Some received the chit indicating they have been detained and their passports and RCs have been taken away. The questions also range from querying the purpose of the move to the other member state and then to the UK, activity undertaken in the other member state and questions around integration. A few have also indicated that their non-EEA family member, despite holding a UKRC, has had their passport stamped - this is not legal.

We are thinking of making a general complaint on this treatment to those who have already been issued UK documentation and thus keen to see if anyone else has been through the complaints process with the Home Office, or indeed, has experience similar to the above they would be happy to share with us for us to then take forward with the HO (better armed makes for a stronger compaint!).
