Police certificate from UK for visa?

Post by kindastuck » Tue Aug 21, 2018 12:33 pm

Hello everyone, I'm applying for a UK visa from outside the country after previously having worked there for a couple of years. I wanted to ask about whether I have to provide a police certificate from the UK as part of my application. I don't have one since my understanding was that it's not required, but filling in the online application brings me to this section - the picture I'm attaching here:

If you're unable to see it, it says that I need to provide a criminal record certificate from the UK. If I say I cannot provide the certificate it warns me that my application might be rejected.

This is different to the guidance given on the page on the website which states "This must be from any country (except the UK) where you have lived for 12 months or more (whether continuously or in total) in the last 10 years, while aged 18 or over." and I am confused as to how to proceed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.
