Right to work in the UK

Post by sumyatnoe97 » Thu Aug 23, 2018 8:34 am

Hi,

I've made an application for a replacement card (indefinite leave to remain) in June. I've had my first day at my new job yesterday. Unfortunately, I couldn't continue to work as I didn't have anything to prove that I have the right to work in the UK apart from enrolment letter from Home Office. So I rang home office and I've spoken to one of the advisors to see whether if they can send me or my new employer an email/confirmation letter stating that I have the right to work in the UK. But that guy said apprantely they don't do that. Which I know for a fact that they can because one of my friends had a same situation as me and she got a letter sent through to her which she provided to her new job.

Is there any ways I can get a letter which states that I have the right to work in the UK?

Thank you for your suggestion. My employer has already used that service for me but they said it'll take up to 10 working days. So i was just wondering if I could get the email/confirmation letter from Home Office a bit earlier than that.
