Beyond service standard 8 weeks - no letter explaining why

Post by wickham04 » Thu Aug 23, 2018 10:37 am

I applied for FLR M extension (30 months after initial 33 month spouse visa) on 21 June. There is a service standard of 8 weeks and, if a decision cannot be made within that time, my understanding is a letter is supposed to be sent detailing why they cannot make a decision in that time.

To date I have not received a letter. I contacted the 'helpful' UKVI Contact Centre and they were able to ask for an update. Soon after I received a rather generic response from them which stated 'our records show that your application has not yet been completed.'

What am I to make of this response? It is worded in a way to suggest fault on my end as in an 'incomplete' application. I filled out the entire FLR M form, submitted all the necessary documents, completed my biometrics, and have paid both the IHS and the application fee. My employer ran an ECS check at the end of my visa period which came back positive with a 6 month expiry. What can I do to chase this up?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions and insights.

They are saying that your application processing is not yet complete, if there was an issue with what you submitted you would be informed about it.

Write to your MP and ask him/her to assist in chasing this up.
My comments do not constitute immigration advice, if in doubt consult an immigration adviser/solicitor
