Lost BRP / forgotten

Post by Aussieabroad » Fri Aug 24, 2018 1:49 pm

Hi all

In a bit of a pickle here. I’m in the Uk and a spousal visa, everything’s good.

Just arrived in Greece yesterday (Crete) for a week holiday with my partner and normally my BRP is in my purse and I check, and it’s not there. I’ve just submitted an application for it lost and gone visa4uk for a single use but said we need to go Athens, that’s not really feasible financially or time wise.

For whatever reason I forgot to put the BRP back in my purse after going to exchange my Aussie licence, we put that on hold for this holiday and I clearly didn’t put it back in my purse. My MIL went to the house and couldn’t find it so genuinely have no idea where it is so I think it was accidentally binned.

What can I do. My finger prints are all on the system, I can’t get to athens to reissue them. The home office number is useless and the Athens visa office is shut till Tuesday and we’re flying Wednesday back to UK.

Do I just wing it? I’ve never had my brp checked until I return to the uk and I’ve been to Spain, France, Majorca, Tenerife and Bali while in the Uk.theyve got my finger prints and everything is digital so I assume the border patrol guy can just check? But being the UK logic doesn’t work right!

I can’t file a police report as it may be somewhere in the house in the UK so really at a loss of what to do
