Not genuine NI number!!!! A problem?

Post by Omom123 » Sun Aug 26, 2018 5:51 am

Hi,

My friend is filling a new tier 4 application and she’s asked if she has an NI number.

She used the online generated NI numbers which isn’t the way you’re meant to get one.

Should she answer no to that question? As it wasn’t issued by the home office even though it was used to work?

She just wants to know if she should put no/ yes for NI number even though it wasn’t issued by the home office but she used it to work.

She has an NI number, so the answer is "Yes".

If she obtained and used it unlawfully, which seems to have been pointless given that she was entitled to apply for one, that is a separate problem.
