ACCIDENTAL DAMAGED PASSPORT AFTER UKVI APPLICATION UNDER TIER 2

I just accidentally washed my passport which was in one of the inner pockets of my bag. It isn't destroyed and is still clearly legible, but I don't think it will be accepted by UKVI. I only realised this only three days to my UKVI appointment. I have reschedule my visa appointment and I am in the process of applying for a new passport, express delivery. However my concern is that his new passport reference number will not match the passport number that was provided on my Certificate of Sponsorship.

I am intending to bring both my old passport and my new passport to the visa appointment.

1.Please can you advise if this will be acceptable or if I need to do something else
2.e.g. somehow reissue the CoS? bring other documentation? Other?
3.Also can I ask for the start date on the CoS be changed since I have submitted and paid for the visa fee and have already scheduled an appointment?

Good evening!
I just want to know what did you did after your passport has been damaged? I mean did you applied another COS since the details will be different with your visa form.
I think i’ll go through the same thing since i think i need to renew my passport.
