Statless person

Post by aaraef » Sun Sep 02, 2018 9:23 pm

Hi,
I'm a statless person holding Egyptian travel document for Palestinian refugees. I've been working in Ireland for three years. The question is: can I apply for Irish naturalization?
Few months ago I've visited my family in Egypt spent 20days there, will this affect my applicatiin?
Thanks

asylum holders are allowed to apply after three years u can confirm that on inis website. Re holidays as long as its less then 6 weeks in a 12 month period ul be fine even if it is in the year before application continues residence is not effected by holidays again as long as less then 6 weeks.
Thanks

Sometimes there is an issue if an asylum seeker (who is granted asylum because there is a danger to his/her life in the home country) visits his/her home country. As the rationale behind the asylum claim is no more valid after the person has already visited and returned back safely from that state.
I don't think it will be an issue in your case, as a stateless Palestinian refugee visiting Egypt is not the same as visiting your home country. So in my opinion, there should not be any objection on your travel.
