Apply for residence card with existing UK student visa

Hi everyone,

I am an international student holding a student visa that will be expired in Oct. 2019. I married to my husband earlier this year, who is EEA national. And now I am in process of applying the residence card.

In the application form, it requires the fingerprint information for my current BRP. However, I cannot recall the details, such as dates, etc.. Since I will need to enrol the biometric data again, can I just say no to the question "if you had the finger print taken"?

Additionally, I found by reading the posts that the online application with the sponsor (QP as worker in my case) will some how accelerate the process? Will that be better to apply together with my husband in this case?

For Non EEA/Non British - whether you have done Biometric fingerprint on previous home office application before you still need to do fresh Biometric finger prints again for any new application anyway. Write a letter confirming you have done one before but do not remember the dates and willing to do another one if offered. Don't put no put yes and don't fill the dates. I have once done this in the past and was okay

Thank you very much for the reply, that is really helpful. I was about to call the home office, but cannot find a proper number online.. Just would like to check with you, regarding the letter, can I write an email or should I include a letter in the post of my application? Thanks again.

Regarding the QP, my husband was studying in UK is the last three years and started working since this July. In this case, is it necessary to mention in the cover letter. I am a bit concerned since we can only submit one pay-slip as he has not worked for more than 3 months. Thanks.

Get your (sponsor/EEA) 's employer to write headed paper letter (stamped if possible)that is working for them, starting date, contracted hours. They normal ring the employer for confirmation anyway. Also attach your one payslip. I shouldn't be worried much on that. Focus more on proof on relationship.

okok, that is a relief. We got the letter from the employer stating all the details as hours, pay and permanent position,etc. For the relationship, we have the marriage certificate as we got married here in UK, and two tenancy agreements (old and current one) as the proof we lived together for more than two years. Also got the council tax bill, although we got separately ones, since I am student and exempt from the council tax. We have all the bills, but not really under a joint account, some under mine, some under his. Will all these be enough?
