EEA QP - student going from college to uni

Post by preissj » Fri Sep 07, 2018 9:40 pm

Hi everyone! I am applying for an EEA registration certificate which I hope might be useful in whatever post-Brexit scheme actually gets implemented. I have spent two years at a local college and am now transitioning to university. Since school finished in late June/early July and uni is not starting until October, I wonder whether I need to provide evidence that I have been self-sufficient in the meantime? I have a letter from my college confirming that I am going to continue my studies in the UK and I will also have a certificate issued by my (future) university confirming that I will have been studying there since October. Should that be enough to prove continuity? Anyone in a similar situation? Thanks for any thoughts!

Whether studying or self-sufficient, do you have CSI aka private health insurance? It is required for any period of study or self-sufficiency for counting as exercising treaty rights.

Yes, I do, that's not a problem. I just don't know whether I need to provide anything else for the period of self-sufficiency, if indeed the summer counts as one.

Yes, I do, that's not a problem - I have a certified English translation of the S041 form which from the testimonies of others seems to be accepted by the Home Office (even though it's not listed in its official guidelines). I just don't know whether the summer between college and uni counts as a period of self-sufficiency and whether I need to provide any additional documents if it does.
