FLR(M) Extension - Prep Help

Post by Edge9nx » Mon Sep 10, 2018 12:10 pm

Hello Guys,

I'm new to this forum and was hoping you could help answer a few questions for me.

I'm in the process of applying for FLR (M) extension next week, and unsure of a couple of things on the forms, etc. I am the applicant to an unmarried partner. We will be submitting an in-person application. We're due to get married next year, all being well.

Firstly, would you recommend getting solicitor to represent, or is it not needed? I do have a history, but wasn't sure if this was necessary, given the amount we spent in the last application. A solicitor we spoke with has advised they're able to assist but would be advisable to have someone attend the same day appointment with us. Meaning, paying for their hotel fees, train journey and their time.

Second, Financial Requirement: I recently rejoined my old job but for a different role, within the last week. I spent 5 months at the previous job prior to coming back. Both full time previous roles all exceed the minimum income threshold. In addition to that, I have a part time Saturday job, on a self employment (ad-hoc) basis. I had submitted my tax return for the second job with the report included in the application.
My questions are:
-Would you recommend relying solely on my partner's salary, as she's been with the same employer for 10 years?
-Would you recommend including all my employment contracts (First job left in April, second job left end of August and current one)
-Page 27, 7.3: Current annual salary - I have indicated mine; is that correct or shall I put my partner's?
-Income from self employment: Does that section need to be ticked even though we aren't relying on that? I've filled in details on the self employment section detailing the amount earned in the last year.

Lastly: English Language Requirement
I took the B1 Trinity College London test; will this be accepted?
I was thinking of including my old college qualifications - are they necessary?

Any help with these questions, would be greatly appreciated.
