I have been following this forum for the past 6 months and I found it very helpful so thought I might get some insightful advise from you guys .
Basically, it has been over 8 weeks and I still did not receive my biometric enrolment letter for the variation application.
Here is an overview of the case:
I have made a SET(LR) application on the 08.06.18 and attempted to vary my application to SET(M) on 28.06.2018 . I attended a premium appointment as I had to travel urgently but the case worker explained that in the absence of my original documents (mainly my passport) he could not take a decision and have, as a result, voided my application without even considering it. I knew there were risks it could be deferred because of this but never thought it could be voided!
Anyway, he advised to send the variation application by post instead which I did subsequently.
The timeline of both applications is as per below:
Visa expiry date: 08/06/2018.
SET(LR) application posted on: 08/06/2018.
Biometric letter received on: 28/06/2018 and subsequently enrolled my biometrics.
SET (M) variation posted on: 12/07/2018 which was signed for on the 13/07/2018.
An attempt to take further payment of the application fees was made on the 16/07/2018.
A letter has been sent to HO by my solicitors on the 18th of July to clarify that since I was making a variation application; and the application fees are the same for both applications, no further payment should be outstanding. We have also asked to notify us if a second payment was required. There has been no correspondence received from HO since.
we have called the HO advise line twice and everytime we hear a different version. One time they said if it takes more than 6 weeks we should write to HO which we did and another time they said there isn't such a thing as a timeline for biometric letter but the fact that they attempted to take payments means that they're processing the variation application.
Not sure where to turn to and I am hoping to hear out people who might have had similar situation.
