Help. Assylum appeal Tribunal

Post by AssylumHelp » Tue Sep 11, 2018 9:36 pm

Hi.

My partner has been in UK since 2005. Came as 15 yr old. Was processed by police on day one. Was given 2 years stay as a minor. Has been applying for assylum ever since.

Currently appealing refusal at tier 1 tribunal. Appeal heared yesterday.

The question is what can be done about the Home Office representitives continuing to question me about how i could be with an 'Illegal immigrant.
And asking him how he managed to start a relationship as he is an 'Illegal immigrant'

We have no issue with their questioning - just the term illegal immigrant. Considering an independant judge will be taking heed and that the term itself can leave seeds in her mind - can someone please advise us on his correct status.

And if as we feel is correct that he is not an illegal immigrant then who can we complain to. Solicitor shrugs these things off and to complain to the home office is daunting considering complaining about the home office to the home office is just asking for trouble or so were made to feel.

Is he an assylum seeker or illegal immigrant (hate that terminology)

He came to uk in 2005. Given 2 years stay has been fighting his case ever since. Currently appealing a refusal. Has signed every week as he should and they (police) processed him on day one of being in country and put him in care of social workrs due to his age.

Surely once you have applied fir assylum weather refused or not if you are appealing this then you are a refused assylum seeker in appeal and not an 'illegal immigrant' regardlesa of your means of entry into the uk

Is this right?

If so what can we do about her use of this term.

Kind regards and thanks in advance.
