BRP Collection Question

Post by gdickson » Sat Sep 15, 2018 6:05 am

Hi there,

I applied for the UK Ancestry Visa, and my wife applied as my dependent.
Both of us received acceptance and our 30 day vignette, but these dates were so far out of our planned travel.

We intended to travel October 15, but the vignette is for September 4 to October 4.

My wife is able to travel, but I likely will not be able to.

Would she be able to travel with my passport and collect my BRP for me, then post my passport and BRP card back to me in Canada? Would this allow me to then travel at a later date to the UK?

Thanks in advance for the help.

If you specified the effective date to be deferred on the visa applications, then ask them to correct it.

Further to Vinny's advice, your plan for your wife to collect your BRP won't work. The UK entry stamp in your passport is required to activate your BRP.
