Never registered for WRS - will I get in trouble?

Post by krys2018 » Wed Sep 19, 2018 12:07 am

Hello,

I am applying for Permanent Residency (EEA PR) and I found out that one of the questions was whether I worked between 2004-2011 and if so, did I get WRS.

Even though my qualifying time was last 5 years (2013-2018), I still need to answer above questions. Issue is, I was not aware of WRS nor my employer did anything about this (big corporation).

Will stating that I never registered for WRS (working illegally) decline my application, i.e. Home Office will refuse to issue Permanent Residency? Or will they just not count such period into required 5 years (qualifying time) ?

Any answers will be appreciated!

Hope this makes sense.

I forgot to add, that I spent some time online and could not find any answer to my question even on HO website. I will try to call them and ask but would still appreciate any answer.

Hi Krys2018 - the fact that you didn't have WRS is not a problem for the EEA (PR) application, if you have 5 years of qualifying period after 2011. Given your qualifying period is 2013-2018, there should be no issue with the fact that you didn't have WRS before. Good luck.
