Long Wait For ECS check?

Post by babymama » Fri Sep 28, 2018 8:12 pm

I put in an in-time application for ILR on 04/08/208 and have received acknowledgement letter from UKVI on 06/08/2018 and email on 04/09/2018 sating that my application was being reviewed.

I informed my employer of my application and gave HR my application details for a right to work check via ECS.

HR informed me that they have sent a request on 07/08/2018. The problem is that until now, UKVI hasnot sent a response to my employer and I have been suspended as a result.

Can you please advise if ECS check takes over 2 months to get a response and waht I can do next?

Thank you

Re: Long Wait For Employer Checking Service check?

I just want to post an update on this situation. After my ECS check didnt come through and HR team were pretty much not well-informed on how to manage the situation, I decided to take matters in my hands. I first got my employer to request another ECS check and I then sent email to the following emails: employercheckingservice@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, complaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, publicenquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, providing full details of my application journey and what the email was about. I am not sure which one of the emails did the trick, but i received a reply within 2 working days from the Team leader of the caseworkers saying that my query has been attended to. The ECS was received by my employer and from the looks of it, my application was also approved the same day. So in all, i feel things worked out for the better.

My take from this is that dont bother calling the UKVI customer service line for assistance because they do no have enough information to assist anyone. it is best to send emails or letters to UKVI to get any sort of response. Keep sending if possible, until a reply is received.

Good luck!!!
